The Federation is a member of the Canadian Commission for UNESCO and is involved in the Commission de l'enseignement et de la recherche universitaire within the Conseil supérieur de l'éducation since 1977.
Our implication allows us to be constantly on the look-out for the most recent achievements in the field of education and to indirectly influence them.
CANADIAN COMMISSION FOR UNESCO
The Canadian Commission for UNESCO operates under the aegis of the Canada Council for the Arts. The Commission is used as a forum for governments and civil society, and to mobilize the participation of Canadian organizations and committed individuals in UNESCO's mandated areas such as education, natural and social sciences, culture, communication and information.
The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) is the only member of the United Nations System to have National Commissions performing this role in its Member States.

CONSEIL SUPÉRIEUR DE L'ÉDUCATION -Commission de l'enseignement et de la recherche universitaire
The function of the Council is to advise the Minister on everything relating to education. For this purpose, the Council must submit a report to the Minister, at least every 2 years, on the State and Needs for Education. This report is presented to the National Assembly.
For this purpose, the Council entrusts a commission, the Committee on the State and Needs for Education or ad hoc committees with the mandate to propose orientations or make recommendations to the Minister on questions relating to an Order, a teaching sector or the State and Needs for Education. These various entities must prepare drafts, reports or briefs to be submitted to the Council for adoption.
The Council's opinion is the result of deliberations between the members. These deliberations are based on documented studies, the hearing of experts as well as by the consultation of people directly implicated in the education field.
Accordingly, for several years now, the FPPU has suggested applicants from the ranks of the Federation to the Commission de l'enseignement et de la recherche universitaire (CÉRU). (Idem...)
Here is the list of the professional personnel representing or having represented the FPPU at the CÉRU.
